Cleenol - Edencleen
Naming, branding and creating packaging labels for a range of cleaning products designed to appeal to customers who need a dedicated environmental cleaning range.

Cleenol is recognised as one of the UK’s leading innovators, manufacturers and suppliers of quality cleaning and hygiene products.
With a legacy of over 300 years of history rooted in family values, Cleenol has been an institution in cleaning and hygiene manufacturing for the past 75 years.
The brief
Cleenol approached Ergo with a need for a new name for an environmentally-focused cleaning range, as well as a new brand design, a range of icons and packaging labels creation.
We started with a workshop to determine the name, then moved on to the logo design nad packaging labels.
The process
The name is derived from the word 'eden’, (meaning a delightful place, region, dwelling, known as a paradise, a state of great delight, happiness, or contentment; bliss), combined with 'cleen’, which originates from the name 'Cleenol’, creating 'Edencleen’ which supports the message of their tagline 'for a cleaner, safer world’.
The challenge
Due to the huge number of cleaning products in the Edencleen range, the challenge came in trying to establish distinct colours for each individual cleaning product within the range, and creating a cohesive, co-ordinated look and feel for the packaging.
The result
They decided upon a design route that ventured a little further from the norm for their industry. They were willing to take a risk and be daring, which everyone felt really paid off when presented with the resulting designs.
Ergo went way beyond everyone’s expectations and created designs that no-one involved had even imagined would end up becoming their brand identity.
