Introducing Rolls Royce R? Data Labs

R? Data Labs is Rolls Royce’s division for innovation in new data services for Rolls-Royce and its customers.

It’s a catalyst for data innovation, finding untapped value from data and also acts as a development hub for new Rolls Royce services.

Working closely with Marketing Agency partners Mission Drive we provided the design and layout for the Rolls Royce R2 Data Labs franchise operating manual.

Working within brand guidelines

For the brief we were provided copy for the document, a colour palette for R2 Data Labs, Rolls Royce Pioneer font and a full set of brand guidelines.

We created a set of multi-page concepts to select an initial direction from, and with feedback from Rolls Royce and Mission Drive we created a final design template for the communications document artwork. This was then filled with images sourced from the Rolls Royce Image hub and typeset.

Often images are provided in low quality or an un-editable format but still require changing for the final document. Using our knowledge of the brand style we were able to edit or in some cases rebuild from scratch, the infographics and diagrams that had been provided to us. These updated diagrams could then be used by Rolls Royce for future projects, including internal and external communications, web applications and more.

Delivering time-critical brand communications

With Mission Drive we worked with the team at Rolls Royce to ensure all artwork and work with the R2 Data Labs division brand; was within Rolls Royce Brand Guidelines. The result was a professional communication document that the client was pleased with. The time-scales on this project were very tight, but we delivered on time!
