Creativity beyondthe imagination
Ergo is a multi-award winning creative agency in the Cotswolds - going beyond the imagination to envision and execute innovative ideas for brand, digital and industrial.
Let's Ergo back to the start...
Working with Ergo is a lot like being welcomed into a family - a friendly team of highly skilled creatives, who relish climbing inside the minds of both client and end-user to bring ideas to life and go beyond expectations.
Bringing our imagination to the table to make your vision a reality, we always create things that go beyond the ordinary and further than simply meeting the brief.
Collectively, we have decades of experience working with both global and local businesses - from global corporate to village fete - meaning there is no limit to the application of our creativity.
Our team history
We are proud of how the Ergo team has grown organically through a series of serendipitous events and chance meetings.
None of the existing team members were recruited through outreach, and that's what makes the Ergo team so special - each person specifically sought out and selected Ergo as the place they most wanted to work at.
Spanning three decades, Ergo’s history began in 2009 when Design Director, Tom Walton, put inspired ideas into action and formed Dandelime. It all started with a simple phone call between Tom and our now Lead Web & UI Designer, Justin.
Disillusioned by the way things were traditionally done at most UK design agencies, they had a vision for something different: an agency where exceptional results and innovative solutions came from talented people who were relatable, down-to-earth and human in their approach to design excellence.
Heads were put together, and they began on a journey to something way beyond what, at the time, either of them imagined it would be.
This is our story.
Dandelime
Dandelime originally offered innovative furniture design, alongside brand, digital and industrial design. The name simply aimed to sound unique, happy and green.
Tom Walton
Creative Director
Leading creative and an Industrial Designer, with over 15 years’ experience. Working on branding, structural branding, packaging, product design, spatial design and graphic design for leading brands such as Unilever, P&G, Coca-Cola, Wyeth, Reckitt Benckiser, Kimberly-Clarke, Sara Lee, Mars food, Jaguar Land Rover, Mastercard and more, Tom has a wide experience to call on, designing stand-out projects.
Justin Bowley
Lead Web & UI Designer
With over 20 years’ experience in web design, UI and digital graphic design, the early part of Justin’s career involved building intranet interfaces for BT and websites within the dental industry. In these years he well and truly proved his design, HTML and CSS skills with his talents and keen eye for detail, but was not getting to flex his creative flare. Since joining Ergo, Justin has been able to do just that, working on digital graphics, responsive websites, apps and online media for major brands such as Mastercard, Honeywell, Dell, Corporate Rewards and IAG Loyalty.
Emblime
By 2012 the business had two clear divisions - custom furniture design and creative agency services. It became clear it was the right time to separate the two, making the marketing message simpler and more targeted. So Emblime was born. The name was still happy and green, and played on the word 'emblem’.
Louisa Wheeler
Copywriting Lead & Graphic Designer
Louisa joined the team in 2013 after a conversation in the pub with Tom, when she told him she was looking for graphic design and marketing work. This turned into years of working together. Despite relocating to Somerset in 2016, she continued to work for us remotely. With a degree in English Literature, she began her career in the publishing world. Since pivoting to marketing and design she has gained 14 years’ experience in both and retains 18 years’ experience in copywriting. Louisa has written for clients Barcode Warehouse, Paynetics, IAG Loyalty, IAG Cargo and many others. She also supports the Design team with her flair for clean, elegantly designed graphics, and the Digital team with her skills in search engine optimisation.
Neil Livesey
Digital Director
Neil already knew Tom through years of friendship and, after joining the team in early 2015, their combined forces and expertise quickly led to a flourishing partnership and rapid growth, with Neil becoming a Director of the company in 2016. Neil’s career started in the early 2000’s with a variety of multimedia-based work, before a stint in London as the web manager for a property management company that soon evolved into looking after their entire IT infrastructure. However, he desired more variety and, after stepping away from his single-industry role, he joined Ergo where there was a need for more complex, bespoke web platforms, applications and server solutions to keep Ergo’s growing client base ahead of the curve. Projects include Microsoft, Dell, Honeywell, custom property portals, websites, live video solutions, and interactive kiosks for clients such as Shell, Diageo, GSK, Metro Digital and Thompson Scientific.
Chris Lane
Industrial Designer
Chris first encountered Ergo back in 2014 after applying for work experience. His passion, drive and quality of design work made him a memorable asset to the team. Later, while finishing his degree, he came back and joined the team as our Industrial Designer. Chris has a high skill level in 2D graphical layouts and 3D modelling creating life like visualisations, fly through animations and interior and exterior scenes, from yachts to packaging. He has previously won awards in design for Taylors of Harrogate, RSA, Nestle; and most recently been recognised as a finalist in BOAT International’s Young Designer of the year award. He has been involved with product and industrial design for some of our key projects including Jaguar Land Rover and My Key Machine. With a glossy and premium finish, his work is of very high standard.
Emblime Incorporated
The vision for a successful, global, out-of-London design agency was coming to life. With a growing team and turnover, it was the right time for Emblime to become a limited company.
Josh Fairburn
Lead Digital Motion Designer
Josh joined the team mid 2017 to support our growing graphics and video workload after meeting Tom when he gave a talk at Josh's college. He approached Tom looking for work and wowed him with his attitude and design skills. With an eye for animation and a passion for iconic graphics and videography, Josh's meticulous detailing creates clean and communicative graphics. Josh has created animations, comms design, digital graphics and videos for Mastercard, Barcode Warehouse, The National Archives and Cadent Gas along with many of our other clients. He also has worked on projects for other well-known companies such as Skanska and Balfour Beatty. Since relocating at the start of 2024, he now works remotely from his new home in Sweden.
Hello, Ergo!
We became Ergo Creative on the 24th May 2018. With another growth spurt and the rise in scale of our customers, we decided it was time to have a name with more purpose, that retained the 'E’ logo identity from Emblime and simplified how we communicated with our clients. We moved into our current building to accommodate a larger team and allow for future growth. We made the decision to close Dandelime Furniture officially, to focus our attention on growing the agency.
Gina Meadowcroft
Digital Marketing Lead
Gina joined us in May 2019 through the apprenticeship scheme, and impressed everyone so much with her marketing skills and tenacious can-do attitude that she stayed on board permanently. She works on digital marketing and campaign design and management for both Ergo and our clients, keeping us on trend in the digital marketing world. Her passion for advertising is supported by her degree in Visual Communications. As the digital marketing world progresses daily, her natural interests mean the campaign possibilities for us and our clients are always expanding. Gina also assists with project and account management, working with clients such as Barcode Warehouse and Nord Anglia Education.
Kristina Tristram
Lead Graphic Designer & Photographer
Having come from working for a major hotel brand, and seeking a job that was varied and client facing, Kristina joined Ergo at the start of 2020 after approaching them with her CV. With an impressive portfolio of work and a hunger for design excellence. Her skills were clearly evident, and so she became our Lead Graphic Designer and Photographer. Her focus is on graphic design, working on campaigns for clients such as The National Archives and Barcode Warehouse and producing digital graphics and illustrations for Nord Anglia Education. With a love for branding, she has successfully rebranded companies such as Smart Volution and products for InnuScience. With her photography background and a degree in commercial photography, Kristina has photographed cars, food, products and interiors, and recently photographed a levitating shoot for Contis, used in their digital campaign.
Pluto
Meet & Greet Officer
After joining the team on a part-time basis back in 2021, Pluto quickly earnt himself a full-time position as the company’s Meet and Greet Officer. As an integral part of the company, Pluto is often front of house at the office to oversee all our visitor’s needs - particularly if those needs involve a waggy tail, treats and walkies.
Abbi Marie Lloyd
Graphic Designer
Abbi had previously worked with Kristina, on who's recommendation she applied for work at Ergo. She was a clear fit for the growing team, with abundant design potential and demonstrable talent. She first worked part-time whilst still completing her Graphic Design Masters’ degree, having dazzled the team with her design portfolio. After graduating, she started working full-time as a graphic designer. Abbi was proud to be a finalist for the Rising Star Awards at the 2024 Agency Awards, recognising her exceptional growth and contribution to the Ergo team since joining at the end of 2022. Abbi first knew she wanted a career in graphic design when she took a job role as an office admin at a previous design agency. Her design flare soon stood out and within a few months, she was taking on more design work than admin. Her clients include Nord Anglia Education, UK Agri-Tech Centre, IAG Cargo, Charles Taylor and Access Partnership.
